Yang and Sullivan discussed top leaders’ potential video summit for this year: Chinese FM

Top Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, during their meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, on October 6 discussed over a potential bilateral video summit between both presidents before the end of this year, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on Friday.

Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan held extensive, candid and in-depth strategic communication and exchanges on China-US relations and issues of common concern, Zhao said during a regular press conference on Friday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping previous had held a phone conversation with President Joe Biden upon invitation on September 10, 2021. The two sides agreed to maintain regular communication through a variety of channels.
