The main opposition party UML is still obstructing today’s meeting of the National Assembly.
After the UML lawmakers protested, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina gave the party MP Bhairav Sundar Shrestha time to speak. MP Shrestha said that the problem arose when Speaker did not implement the recommendation of his party to take action against the party-elected MP. Although recommended action against 14 lawmakers who did not follow the party’s instruction, the speaker accused the UML of playing a supportive role in the split by not implementing it for a long time.
As the Speaker of the House of Representatives did not feel any mistake on the issue and did not give a satisfactory answer yet, Shrestha urged Timilsina not to proceed with the proceedings of the House until a reply is received.
Chairman Timilsina had put forward the agenda after the UML MPs stood up and protested even when they were asked to help in conducting the meeting without any obstruction.
On behalf of Parshuram Meghi Gurung, Chairman of the Legislative Management Committee, Thagendra Prakash Puri, a member of the committee, presented the report of the committee on the Public Service Commission Bill, 2075 received with a message from the House of Representatives.
