A man arrested for involvement in mass murder

Police have arrested a man on charge of being involved in the massacre in Umling Khola village of Madi Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha.

A man from Madi-1 Umling Khola village has been arrested on the charge of involvement in the murder, said DSP Lal Dhoj Subedi of District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha. More information about the incident will be given at a press conference on Sunday, said DSP Subedi.

52-year-old Tej Bahadur Karki, 84-year-old mother Parbati Karki, 52-year-old wife Kamala Karki, 32-year-old daughter-in-law Ranjana Karki, 11-year-old grandson Dipen Karki and 7-year-old granddaughter Goma Karki, were killed in Khola village of Madi-1 Umling on Monday. A team comprising Chief of Police Deputy Inspector General Arun Kumar BC and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police had reached the spot to investigate the incident.

Sankhuwasabha Police Chief Subedi said that the person arrested on the charge of being involved in the incident is a relative of the Karki family.
