Within ten days, 44 lakh doses of vaccine will reach Nepal from China

The government of Nepal has purchased an additional 44 lakh doses of Vero Cell vaccine from China within 10 days. At a press conference held at the Ministry of Health on Sunday to inform about the annual meeting of the regional committee of the World Health Organization, Minister of State Umesh Shrestha said that 44 lakh doses of vaccine have been paid and will arrive within a week to 10 days, Nepal Samaj Online wrote.

He also said that there is a plan to vaccinate 33 percent of the citizens by Dashain. He said that 40 lakh doses of Moderna vaccine for children under 18 years of age have been finalized and the process of bringing the remaining 60 lakh doses of Pfizer vaccine has been started.

Minister of State Shrestha said that 5 crore 50 lakh doses of vaccine are required and one crore four lakh doses have been vaccinated as per the plan.
