The Home Ministry has expressed serious objection to the burning of the effigy of the Indian Prime Minister. A statement issued by the ministry on Sunday said that the incident which had tarnished the image of the Prime Minister of the neighbouring country was reprehensible and objectionable and the Home Ministry had drawn serious attention to the incident.
A student organization of the CPN-UnifiedSocialist Party had burnt the effigy of the Indian Prime Minister on Friday in connection with the incident of a Nepali citizen falling from the Tuin and disappearing into the Mahakali River in Darchula. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also stated that action will be taken against those involved in such activities to control the activities targeted against the Allies.
The Government of Nepal seeks to deepen bilateral relations with all friendly nations and is committed to preventing activities against any of the nations on Nepali soil. The Ministry of Home Affairs has urged all not to engage in any activities that could tarnish the self-esteem and respect of the allies.
