Home Minister Khand inspected the flood-affected areas of Helambu and Melamchi in Sindhupalchok today

 

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand inspected the flood-affected areas of Helambu and Melamchi in Sindhupalchok today. Due to the rains on Asar 1 and 16, floods and landslides in the area have caused huge damage to property.

A team including the home minister Khand had inspected the Melamchu Bazaar of Melamchi Municipality and the surrounding areas and the Ganesh Bazaar area of Ward No. 2 of Helambu Village Municipality.

On the occasion, Home Minister Khand directed to construct dilapidated roads, bridges, houses, offices and other structures and make proper management of the flood and landslide affected people. The team also inquired about the damage caused by floods and slides in the area.

The team includes Home Minister, MP Sher Bahadur Tamang, former Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Planning Commission Vice Chairman Dr. Bishwa Poudel, State Assembly members Yubraj Dulal and Nima Lama, Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, Director General of Roads Arjun Thapa, Deputy Director General of Irrigation Department Pradip Thapa, Chief Executive Director of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, and Helambu Village Municipality Chairperson Nima Galgen Sherpa are also present. The team made on-site and aerial observations of the flood-affected area.
