According to Office Secretary Sher BahadurTamang, Gautamreached the party office in Thapathali on Friday and submitted his resignation to Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
In his resignation letter, Gautam has accused Oliof not following the resignation line passed by the General Convention after he was elected chairman.
Gautam had said that he would not join the newly formed CPN-Unified Socialist Party as he rejected the people’s multi-party democracy. Gautam has not spoken about his upcoming political involvement.
Gautam has spent more than four decades in the UML.
