The recommendation made by the CPN(UML) to Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota for action against 14 members of the House of Representatives, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, will not be implemented.
Secretary of the House of Representatives Gopal Nath Yogi said that the Speaker had decided not to take any action against those recommended for action as the Election Commission has sent the information of the registration of a new party called CPN (Unified Socialist) to the Parliament Secretariat on Bhadra 11. “It has been decided by the speaker that no action should be taken in case the political parties act and new parties are registered,” he said.
On Bhadra 1, the CPN(UML) had registered a letter of action against of its MPs with the Parliament Secretariat. On 27thBaishakh, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli decided to remove them from the party and members of parliament for violating the party’s whip by boycotting the parliament session during a vote of confidence.
With today’s decision of the Speaker, Leader Nepal, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, MukundaNeupane, Ram KumariJhakri, KalyaniKhadka, LaxmiKumari Chaudhary, Nira Devi Jairu, PushpaKumari Karna Kayastha, Sarala Kumari Yadav, KopilaKhatun, BirodhKhatiwada, KrishnaLalMaharjan,BhawaniKhapung and MetmaniChaudhary have retained their parliamentary seats.
