The residential meeting of the proposed CPN-Unified Socialist Party continues in Chandragiri

The residential meeting of the proposed CPN-Unified Socialist Party is still going on in Chandragiri, Kathmandu. The meeting has passed the party’s interim constitution.

The proposed CPN-Unified Socialist Party will form a 151-member central committee with 17 office bearers. In the constitution presented in the meeting, it has been mentioned that there will be 17 office bearers including chairperson, seven vice chairpersons, general secretary, two deputy general secretaries and 7 secretaries. The legislature has made provision for 115 full members and 36 alternate central members including office bearers.

It is mentioned in the proposed constitution that the office bearers and members of the central committee will be elected from the National Council. Provision has been made in the Interim Legislature for holding a General Convention every 5 years and electing members of the National Council from there. In the meeting attended by central leaders and parliamentarians, party president Madhav Kumar Nepal also expressed his views on the implementation of the 10-point agreement put forward by the CPN-UML for party unity.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal, in an appeal made through social media, has repeatedly mentioned that the misleading news of ‘negotiation and consensus’ has become public as a continuation of dishonesty and fraud. He appealed to all to stand firm in the task of reorganizing the communist movement of Nepal without falling into the trap of such deceptive news regarding the process of registration of a new communist party.
