“The situation in Afghanistan has changed dramatically and we respect the will and choice of the Afghan people,” said Geng Shuang, China’s deputy envoy to the United Nations. According to him, the most urgent issue now is to restore peace, stability and order as soon as possible, as well as to try to prevent casualties and many refugees. Afghanistan should not become a heaven for terrorists again.
Representative Geng Shuang called on the countries concerned to provide constructive assistance in the areas of politics, security, development, humanitarianism and counter-narcotics, in line with their commitment to support peace, reconciliation and reconstruction in Afghanistan.
