China’s Foreign Ministry says China has withdrawn its ambassador to Lithuania

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said that the one-China policy will not be destroyed and that the Chinese people will oppose the pro-independence movement by establishing relations with Taiwanese government along with the one-China policy. She made the remarks at a regular press conference in Beijing.

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry expressed regret over China’s withdrawal of its ambassador to Lithuania, and the European League responded by saying that Lithuania’s holding a representative office in Taiwan was not against the one-China policy.

Responding to a reporter’s question about China’s comments on the issue, spokeswoman Hua urged for an end to misunderstanding about China’s determination to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity. She also urged on Lithuania to pursue the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations by adhering to the one-China policy.
