Top leaders have agreed to resolve the dispute over active members of the Nepali Congress Party soon. A meeting of top leaders including party president Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and former general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula agreed to resolve the dispute over active membership within three days. Ramesh Lekhak, a member of the Active Membership Investigation Committee, expressed confidence that the meeting of the top leaders would move forward positively to resolve the problems seen in the active membership and the dispute would be resolved soon.
He informed that the new schedule of the affected local level will be made public after the problems seen in the active membership are resolved. Due to party integration, active membership disputes in some areas and wards of the district including Bara, Saptari, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Kabhrepalanchok, Dhanusha and Sarlahi are yet to resolved.
The Congress has scheduled the 14th General Convention to be held in Kathmandu from Bhadra 16 to 19. According to the previous schedule, the village and town ward convention was scheduled for Shrawan 20. But these schedules have been affected by the active membership dispute.
Meanwhile, the regional convention of the House of Representatives on Shrawan 23, the district convention with more than on constituency is scheduled for Shrawan 26 and the state convention is scheduled for Bhadra 1 and 2.
