Corporation’s aircraft will transport postal letters to international areas

Nepal Airlines Corporation is going to transport goods and letters in the international areas. An agreement has been signed between the corporation and the Postal Services Department regarding the operation of the service, the corporation said in a statement. The agreement was signed by General Manager of the Corporation Dim Prasad Poudel and Director General Abha Shrestha Karna on behalf of the department, the National News Committee wrote.

Under the agreement, which will take effect on July 1, 2021, goods and letters will now be transported only through the corporation to all destinations where the department will provide services and flights. Earlier, the department was carrying out the work through various foreign airlines.

It is believed that crores of rupees being paid to foreign airlines from that service will help in foreign exchange reserves within the country. The corporation has been operating international flights to nine destinations in seven different countries. Currently, two wide-body and two narrow-body aircraft are being flown. By Muna Chand
