Chinese President Xi Jinping held a video conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing on June 28.
On the occasion, President Xi Jinping said that in the face of global turmoil and the crisis facing human development, China and Russia have been cooperating closely to inspire the international community and set a new model for international relations.
The two leaders also issued a joint statement formally announcing the continuation of the “China-Russia Good Neighbour Friendly Cooperation Treaty.”
During the video talks, President Xi Jinping noted that China-Russia good neighbourliness and friendly cooperation treaty have been in line with the fundamental interests of the two countries for a long time and are in line with the main theme of the time in peace and development. According to him, there is a living reality of building a new framework of international relations and uniformity of human destiny. President Xi also expressed confidence that the two countries would have move forward together with determination, no matter how difficult the future may be, as directed by the treaty between China and Russia.
