The road connecting Rasuwagadi an international trade gateway with China, has been blocked due to landslides. According to the District Police Office, Rasuwa, landslides have hit half a dozen places from Dhunche on Pasang Lhamu Road to Syaphrubesi and Raduwagadi.
This blocked road under Dhunche-Syphru road section has been reopened to traffic yesterday evening while the landslide removal work near Trishuli river and Lingling Chimile Hydropower Project has started this morning, according to the District Police Office.
The landslide at Lingling on the Syphru-Rasuwagadi road section is due to a large rock, but the removal work has not been completed yet. Similarly, the foundation of the road has been washed away due to cutting of Bhote Koshi in some places, said Devendra Pandey, Deputy Superintend of Police, District Police Office, Rasuwa.
Cargo containers that have passed the customs inspection are stuck when the road is blocked.
Meanwhile, locals said that electricity, telephone and internet services were not operational last evening due to lack of electricity, telephone and internet in the area for the past four days.
