The Supreme Court is hearing the case related to the dissolution of the House of Representatives in the Constitutional Court today. The hearing was adjourned due to health problems of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabara. There is a constitutional provision for hearing in a constitutional session chaired by the Chief Justice.
A constitutional bench comprising Chief Justice Rana, Senior Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai was constituted on Sunday and the hearing was schedules to begin on Monday. Supreme Court spokesperson Devendra Dhakal said that the hearing was scheduled for today due to health problems of Chief Justice Rana.
After the dispute over the composition of the bench, the hearing has not started yet. There are 30 writ petitions in the dispute.
