Prime Minister and NCP (NCP) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has convened a meeting of the parliamentary parties. All NCP MPs have been invited to the meeting.
The party meeting is being held after the Supreme Court restored the former CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist) to its previous condition. However, the meeting was scheduled for Saturday.
The Dahal-Nepal faction has boycotted the meeting in protest of the government’s agenda to present the ordinance at the first meeting. Leader Bhim Rawal had demanded to remove the issue of presenting the ordinance from the agenda. NCP (NCP) MP Khagraj Adhikari had objected to Rawal’s demand.
Speaker Agni Sapkota had requested to understand the legal obligation to issue the ordinance in the first meeting of the House of Representatives. However, the Dahal-Nepal faction refused and walked out.
Similarly, Congress and Janata Samajwadi Party have blocked the meeting of the House of Representatives with slogans saying that the returned ordinances including the Constitutional Council have been brought back.
The meeting has been adjourned for 10 minutes as the sloganeering was not stopped even at the request of the Speaker.
