Imported industrial parts from Malaysia test positive for COVID-19: East China’s Dongyang city

A batch of imported industrial parts from Malaysia, transported via East China’s Hangzhou customs on January 15, have tested positive for coronavirus, authorities in Dongyang city, East China’s Zhejiang Province said on Tuesday.

After a company in Dongyang received a notification from a Malaysian parts supplier that two employees of the Malaysian company were diagnosed as coronavirus patients on Monday, relevant departments immediately carried out coronavirus tests on the imported items, as well as the storage and processing environment, according to a statement published on the official WeChat account of the Dongyang government.

Some of the collected articles, packages and environmental samples were tested positive, said the statement.

The imported items were transported via East China’s Hangzhou customs to the enterprise in Dongyang , and have not yet left the company. Relevant company workers have been put under quarantine for medical observation, and coronavirus tests all showed negative results, according to the statement.
