Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is likely to reshuffle the cabinet by removing almost all the ministers appointed two and half a years ago. Reshuffling the Cabinet is one of the conditions made during the settlement of the party disputes.
A meeting of the party secretariat on Sunday also decided to reshuffle the Cabinet by developing criteria, which the Prime Minister also agreed. During the secretariat meeting on Sunday, PM Oli said he would reshuffle the Cabinet. He intends to change the entire team keeping only Ishwor Pokhrel and Barshaman Pun. However, Dahal suggested a total reshuffle could not do good, clearly suggesting continuity to his daughter-in-law Bina Magar, who is portrayed as one of the most incompetent ministers in the present cabinet.
However, reshuffling of the Cabinet will take time as the party has not yet developed the criteria. However, many NCP leaders have already started visiting the leaders in the hope of getting space in the cabinet. However, PM Oli will not be free to pick ministers as he had to adjust leaders Dahal and Madhav Nepal factions to maintain a balance in the party that has overcome disputes only recently.
