A six-member task force has been formed under the coordination of party general secretary Bishnu Poudel to resolve the dispute.
The task force includes Poudel, Bhim Rawal, Shankar Pokhrel, Surendra Pandey, Janardan Sharma and Pampha Bhusal. A meeting between the Prime Minister and NCP (NCP) Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday morning decided to find a solution to the dispute through a task force.
The task force has been given three responsibilities. The task force will make concrete proposals to find a positive solution to the internal problems and move forward effectively as per the mandate of the Nepali people while keeping the unity intact. Discussions between the two chairpersons of the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, which were suspended due to differences over the resumption of the standing committee meeting, resumed on Thursday.
Nine days after the postponement of the standing committee meeting, Oli who is also the prime minister and Dahal, had a two-hour discussion in Baluwatar. Earlier, in an interview, Prime Minister Oli had assured that an agreement would be reached within five days on Thursday.
A meeting was held between the two chairpersons on August 2, 3 and 4 in the presence of senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal and deputy leader of the parliamentary party Subash Chandra Nemwang. However, no agreement was reached as both sides remained steadfast.
