The Police has received the court order on Sunday to keep Dr Roop Jyoti under the Police custody for additional five days. Dr Jyoti was arrested by the Police on the charge of default financial transaction.
Earlier, the Kathmandu District Court had given three days to keep Dr Jyoti under the Police arrest.
Jyoti, upon his arrival from Singapore by Silk Air, was arrested by the Police from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday.
Dr Jyoti has stated that the Police action against him is an attempt to defame him and his family, reports Deshsanchar Online.
Immediately after the arrest, he was granted permission to stay in a hospital, however, he denied the offer saying, “I am a Bipashyana practitioner and I am not allowed to speak lies. Why I should stay in hospital as nothing has happened to me”.
