Nepal-China strategic partnership meaningful: Dr Sekhar Koirala

Nepali Congress leader Dr Selhar Koirala has said that the agreement of strategic partnership inked during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping is meaningful and this issue has to be analysed seriously, reports Kathmandupati Online Portal.

Speaking at a tea reception hosted by the Press Union Kathmandu today, Dr Koirala remarked that President Xi’s Nepal visit was fruitful.

“We all welcomed to the President, the visit became successful, however, the agreement for strategic partnership is meaningful,” Dr Koirala said.

“During KP Sharma Oli’s first visit to China, China had wished to ink strategic partnership with Nepal, however, Oli didn’t accept that proposal at that time. Why he accepted the proposal this time, discussions have to be held in a serious manner,” he said.
