The Government has defied the Ambassadorial Recommendation Directives endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and recommended names of four persons from non-diplomatic background,
According to Kantipur daily, in the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday, Prime Minister Khagda Oli read out the names of ambassadors to be appointed to Qatar, Spain, Australia and Bangladesh. As per the Direcgtives, the Foreign Minister is supposed to propose the names of potential candidates.
Meanwhile, the career diplomats have expressed grave concern over the violation of the set criteria of recommending fifty percent from diplomatic service and rest from political and social sector .
