A sub-committee of the International Relations and Labour Committee of the Parliament formed to probe possible anomalies in the procurement process of two Airbus A330-200 wide-body aircraft by Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has pointed out to anomalies.
The committee has stated that decisions to procure the aircrafts were made without any study and groundwork by different government agencies, including Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and NAC. It has not identified any guilty individuals in the entire procurement process but has stated that the entire process had numerous anomalies and immature decisions.
The sub-committee has also highlighted the need to conduct a further probe into this issue by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and take necessary action.
