Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean futures extended losses on Friday morning amid trade tensions between the United States and top oil seed buyer China.
As of 1527 GMT, the most active soybean contract for July delivery was down 1.25 cents to 8.115 US dollars per bushel. July wheat was up 1.75 cent to 4.3125 dollars per bushel. July corn was up 0.5 cent to 3.5375 dollars per bushel.
CBOT crop futures had plunged on Thursday over downbeat US export data and trade frictions.
On Friday morning, corn and wheat recovered some losses on bargain buying and short covering, said market watchers.
However, soybeans continued its downtrend, after Washington increased additional tariffs on 200 billion US dollars worth of Chinese goods from 10 percent to 25 percent.
