FM: tariffs can’t solve trade problems

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has issued a new statement, saying trade problems can’t be solved simply through imposing tariffs.

Commenting on forthcoming China-US trade talks, the Ministry says mutual respect and benefit has to be a precondition and basis for an agreement.

While noting differences are normal in negotiations, the Ministry says China remains committed to pushing forward the trade talks with the United States.
