The Moroccan security services arrested a man with suspected links to a terror cell of the Islamic State (IS) group in the northern city of Tangier, the Moroccan Interior Ministry announced on Friday.
The ministry announced earlier on Friday the dismantling of a terror cell and the arrest of eight people, including the brother of two IS fighters in Syria and Iraq.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspects, aged between 20 and 31, were propagating IS ideology and were trying to carry out terror attacks in Morocco, the ministry said in a statement.
The security services operation led to the seizure of electronic devices, bladed weapons, an IS flag and paramilitary uniforms.
The suspects will be brought to justice upon the completion of the investigation, the statement said.
Investigations are still underway to arrest other people suspected of links with this terror cell, it said.
