Chinese AI giant Baidu has launched an app called “Baidu AI Online Expo”, to help visitors experience new technologies at the 2019 International Beijing Horticultural Exhibition.
The app provides a bunch of high-tech services for tourists, including flower recognition, online museum and self-driving vehicles.
When visiting the expo, tourists can obtain accurate plant names and detailed information by opening the app and take photos of them. Based on the upgrading of picture recognition technology, the app is currently capable of identifying more than 20,000 flowers and plants, and the accuracy reached 92 percent.
An online museum is also available on the app. Thanks to the aerial photographic technology, panorama photographic technology and virtual reality, the app is capable of presenting a full-round holographic map of the Beijing horticultural expo. On the map, each site is equipped with videos so as to provide detailed background information for expo visitors.
In addition, the app is connected to a self-driving vehicle network. Tourist can register on the app to book a tour of the expo park.
