The death toll has risen to seven after sudden strong rainfall triggered floods in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen Thursday night, local authorities said Friday.
The floods have seen four people go missing as of Friday noon, according to the city’s emergency management bureau.
At around 9 p.m. Thursday, heavy rainfall hit Shenzhen. The rainfall-caused floods rushed into river culverts, flushing away a number of workers responsible for dredging work in the districts of Luohu and Futian.
Search work and investigation is underway.
