Runway at London’s Heathrow Airport has reopened and flights have resumed after a brief suspension following reports of drone sightings on Tuesday evening.

Earlier Tuesday, departures at London’s Heathrow airport were stopped after a drone was spotted, an airport spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said departures were halted “as a precautionary measure” as airport staff were working with police to “prevent any threat to operational safety”.

British Transport Minster Chris Grayling said military were preparing to deploy anti-drone equipment at Heathrow, Britain’s busiest airport, “should it prove necessary”.

The incident came after last month’s major disruption for three days at Gatwick Airport due to reported drones, which affected more than 140,000 passengers. About 1,000 flights were canceled there due to the drone sightings.
