American man adapts Chinese Taoism classic into song

An American man has adapted the Chinese Taoism classic text “Tao Te Ching” into a song, after spending 10 years translating the ancient book of philosophy into English.

The man, who calls himself Dai Ling in Chinese, had the first part of his eight-chapter song recorded on Monday.

Dai has been living in the city of Qingdao in Shandong Province for 15 years. He said he loves Chinese culture and hopes to promote it around the world.
