The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has responded to “Avengers” fans who have been pleading online to save Tony Stark from space.
In the trailer for “Avengers 4: Endgame,” Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is seemingly stuck in space with resources and oxygen running out. Concerned “Avengers” fans have taken to Twitter to beg the real-life space agency to bring their hero back.
To the surprise of many, NASA picked up on the thread, using it as an opportunity to provide some education about space, as well as promote the agency. NASA was able to provide some ‘advice’ on the proper way to prepare for an Iron Man rescue mission. The agency reached out to Marvel on its official Twitter account, saying “Hey @Marvel, we heard about Tony Stark. As we know, the first thing you should do is listen in mission control for “@Avengers, we have a problem.” But if he can’t communicate, then we recommend ground teams use all resources to scan the skies for your missing man.”
The tweet was also attached with a photo of NASA’s offices, in which Thor’s nameplate and hammer can be seen.
Thousands of grateful fans have flooded NASA Twitter account, thanking it for any assistance. The Marvel Studios official account also jumped in on the thread, saying: “Appreciate any help you can provide.”
“Avengers: Endgame” is set to be released in April, 2019.
