Chinese President Xi Jinping said it’s important to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two sides, especially amid rising uncertainties faced by the world, while meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Medvedev is in Shanghai to attend the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) which runs from November 5 to 10.
Xi welcomed Russia to participate in the CIIE as a guest of honor. He hoped that Russia will fully display its high-quality products at the show.
Xi noted China and Russia are both at a critical point in their development, and their relations have maintained a strong momentum.
He put the full implementation of the important consensus reached between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin on deepening the pragmatic cooperation as the top priority of the two countries, and also called on both sides to continue working together in energy, agriculture, finance and technology innovation.
Medvedev expressed Russia’s willingness to take part in future import expos in China. He said Russia will work together with China to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and will coordinate with China in international issues.
