The Parliamentary Special Inquiry Committee formed to investigate the issue of entry of unauthorized persons during the preparation of the budget took a statement from former Finance Minister Janardan Sharma on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The parliamentary special inquiry committee took a statement from the former finance minister Sharma in the working room of the committee on Thursday morning. While leaving after the statement, former finance minister Sharma said that he has answered all the questions asked by the committee and that the committee will decide.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the Secretary of the Committee, Surendra Aryal, said that in his statement on Thursday, former Finance Minister Sharma repeated what he said in the House. Aryal said that Sharma had given the statement that no unauthorized person had entered during the preparation of the budget.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the CCTV footage as evidence of unauthorized entry has not been obtained yet, Secretary Aryal said. Aryal said that the hard disk has been sent to the forensic laboratory of the Nepal Police with the hope that the CCTV footage will be recovered. He said that the investigation will proceed based on the report received from the police.<\/p>\n

The committee inquired about the allegations of manipulation of tax rates by entering the budget of the financial year 2079\/80 by unauthorized persons. The committee has already discussed with 10 officials of the Ministry of Finance involved in the preparation of the budget. Similarly, the 10-day deadline for the committee expired on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Secretary Aryal informed that the Speaker has been requested to extend the necessary time as the investigation work is still pending.<\/p>\n
