Kathmandu, May 11<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Indian High Commission has denied reports in the media that the country has sent troops to Sri Lanka. Officials from India have stated that their country completely supports Sri Lanka’s democratic, stable, and economic recovery.<\/p>\n

Due to severe food and energy shortages, as well as the economic crisis, Sri Lanka has been forced to seek assistance from neighboring countries and international organizations.<\/p>\n

Large organizations have been demonstrating in response to the recent economic crisis, calling for Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to resign.<\/p>\n

In a tweet, the Indian Mission said, ”There have been rumors in the media concerning India sending soldiers to Sri Lanka, and the High Commission would want to firmly deny this.” ”Even these reports and views are not in accordance with the Indian government’s policy toward Sri Lanka,” the tweet stated.<\/p>\n

India strongly supports Sri Lanka’s democracy, stability, and economic recovery, according to a spokeswoman for the Indian foreign ministry.<\/p>\n

India has rejected claims that several Sri Lankan lawmakers and their families had escaped to India, which have been spreading in the media and on social media.<\/p>\n

After a day of violent conflict, Sri Lanka’s military forces have been told to take action against anybody who plunders public property or damages others.<\/p>\n

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has also advised people to be calm and avoid violence and
\nrevenge.<\/p>\n

Anti-organizations fought with anti-government protestors on Monday, resulting in violence
\nacross the country. More than 200 individuals were hurt, and eight people died.<\/p>\n

From Monday through Wednesday, a national curfew was imposed, with the military deployed to preserve law and order. On Monday, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned amid violent protests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
