{"id":57796,"date":"2022-02-17T07:31:36","date_gmt":"2022-02-17T07:31:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eng.danfetv.com\/?p=57796"},"modified":"2022-02-17T07:31:36","modified_gmt":"2022-02-17T07:31:36","slug":"chinese-artist-commemorates-beijing-2022-with-a-painting-a-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eng.danfetv.com\/?p=57796","title":{"rendered":"Chinese artist commemorates Beijing 2022 with a painting a day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chinese artist Shu Yong, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, has been following the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games in his own unique way since the opening ceremony on February 4: painting an artwork each day.<\/p>\n<p>The painting series, titled &#8220;Together for a shared future&#8221; after the theme of the Winter Games, combines Olympic imagery such as Olympic and Paralympic mascots Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon with various traditional Chinese cultural elements.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"565593\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/Portals\/0\/attachment\/2022\/2022-02-06\/bc550b2b-46f4-45bd-883a-35ab8265a6f0.jpeg\" alt=\"One of Shu Yong's paintings\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p class=\"picture\">One of Shu Yong&#8217;s paintings<\/p>\n<p>In one painting, Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon run along the Great Wall; and in another painting, the two mascots stand on the roof of a hall in the Forbidden City.<\/p>\n<p>Shu also painted a scene showing Chinese people from different ethnic groups passing along the national flag during the opening ceremony of the Games.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"565592\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/Portals\/0\/attachment\/2022\/2022-02-06\/27450c63-bafb-43b1-90c6-c141f26406fb.jpeg\" alt=\"One of Shu Yong's paintings Photo: Courtesy of Shu Yong\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p class=\"picture\">One of Shu Yong&#8217;s paintings Photo: Courtesy of Shu Yong<\/p>\n<p>Shu said he believes that the Winter Games can be a landmark event for mankind to overcome the pandemic and that he hopes to record through his art how the Games have introduced Chinese culture to the world.<\/p>\n<p>Shu actually started his project to complete a painting a day in January 2020, right after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
