Kathmandu : CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called for a fact-finding investigation into the recent violent incidents. Speaking at a program organized by the UML-affiliated National Youth Association Nepal in Gundu, Bhaktapur, on Saturday, Oli demanded a thorough probe.<\/p>\n
He addressed public concerns over the shootings and subsequent events. \u201cI personally inquired how the firing started and later learned that 14 people had died. I was told some were shot in the head. I expressed my concern and asked for an investigation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Oli added, \u201cI was deeply saddened by the incident and had also called for a probe into how it happened.\u201d He said he even proposed forming a separate commission to uncover the truth. But the next day, realizing he had no power to act, he resigned.<\/p>\n
He acknowledged that some people have accused him of various things but said he takes the youth-led demand for good governance and action against corruption seriously. He said he had started working on solutions but regretted not being able to act that day.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will answer for any accusations made against me, but peace and social order must be maintained,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
