Chairman Oli’s belief that the people will help his party win state and parliamentary elections

Kathmandu, June 10

KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of the CPN (UML), has stated that the Nepali people would ensure
that the CPN (UML) wins more seats in the next state and parliamentary elections. He told
reporters at Biratnagar Airport today that the people will form the first party in the
parliamentary elections because the UML was dedicated to protecting federalism and
democracy and played a key role in the formulation of the constitution.

Chairman Oli has stated that he would not form a coalition with any other communist party. He claimed that the UML was the country’s only leftist party and accused other parties of not being leftist. CPN-U (Socialist) cadres would be included in the UML, according to Oli, who is also a former prime minister. He said he had not promised other party leaders that he would become prime minister.

He said that the status of the local body elections would not define the status of all the
elections and that the party had won the most seats but came in second in the popular vote.
