Rautes receive social security allowance

Kathmandu, June 1

Gurans Rural Municipality has distributed social security allowance to nomadic Raute people
residing at Chhedagad Municipality-5, Banka Thalaha in Jajarkot.

Newly-elected Ward Chairperson Deependra Oli shared that the Ward Office provided the
social security allowance of three months to the Raute community people.

It may be noted that Gurans Rural Municipality-8 had distributed identity cards to the Raute
people some five years ago.

The Raute families had reached Chheda Gad Municipality-5 Banka Thalaha of Jajarkot in the
course of migration. Ward chair Oli informed that social security allowance of three months
(Magh, Falgun, and Chaitra) was distributed to 144 members of 40 Raute families. Rs 4,000 each was provided to the nomadic Raute community members.

Raute community people are normally residing in and around Dailekh, Surkhet, Salyan and
Jajarkot districts of Karnali province. Most of them have been residing in Dailekh.

The federal government has been distributing social security allowance to the Raute people
through Gurans Municipality-8 since 2017.
