Dr. Shankar Sharma, Nepal’s new Ambassador to India, has encouraged Indian businesspeople to take advantage of the country’s investment potential.
Ambassador Dr. Sharma recommended mobilizing capital in areas of comparative advantage in a New Delhi event founded by the Nepalese Embassy in New Delhi and the Everest Chamber of Commerce and Industries, an organization of Nepalese businesspeople in India, on Monday. He stated, ”Nepal has several investment opportunities. I encourage Indian entrepreneurs to invest and flourish.”
According to him, the historical background of Nepal-India relations, geographical convenience, and linguistic and cultural uniformity, among other aspects, will make it simpler for Indian companies to invest in Nepal. He advised Indian businesses to invest in Nepal since the country is simpler to invest in than other countries because of its geographical proximity to India and the similarity of many sectors.
During the discussion on Banking and Remittance Services, as well as Export Trade and
Investment Opportunities, Dr. Sharma advised everyone to transfer money to Nepal through banks just for security and transparency. Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Everest, emphasized the need of encouraging investment in Nepal. He invited the Nepali and Indian communities to work together on laws and regulations, as well as import-export from India, to improve the investment climate in Nepal.
