On election day, only vehicles with passes are allowed to drive, the quota for journalists

Kathmandu, May 9

Only vehicles with valid driver’s licenses will be permitted to drive on May 13, the day of the local election. Journalists will be issued a driver’s license (pass) based on the quota allotted to them.

On election day, voters are not permitted to drive. Vehicles licensed by the Election
Commission and the District Administration Office, on the other hand, are permitted to
operate. On the suggestion of the Chief Electoral Officer, the District Administration Office
issues pass to candidates and their representatives.

People with physical disabilities should utilize permitted vehicles to go to and from polling
stations. A person with a handicap can be accompanied by a member of his own family when traveling in this manner.

Help in an emergency, ambulances, drinking water trucks, fire engines, telephones,
ambulances, hospitals, power, and official cars with blue number plates do not require a vehicle pass. Vehicles bearing foreign license plates, on the other hand, are not permitted.
