Regular trading in the stock market on Friday

Kathmandu, May 8

On Friday, which is now the sole trading day, the stock market will resume regular trade. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) is open for business five days a week, from Sunday to Thursday, with limited ‘ad lot’ trading on Friday.

The Securities and Exchange Board of Nepal (SEBON) has announced that regular trading will resume on Friday for five days, despite concerns that regular share trading would be reduced to four days as a result of the government’s announcement of two days off in the name of conserving petroleum products. Chairman of the Nepal Securities Board Ramesh Kumar Hamal said the government has decided to open the stock market on Friday as well, speaking at a capital market conference held by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
