Bishnu Poudel, vice chairman of the CPN-UML and former finance minister, has said that the country’s economy is at risk.
Former finance minister Poudel, speaking at a press conference organized by the UML’s
Publicity Department, urged political parties not to interfere in the economy unnecessarily.
Poudel stated at the time that no one can save the country from facing the same fate as Sri
Lanka if a meaningful intervention is not made on time.
He said “The country’s economic situation is at risk. If we do not intervene meaningfully, no one will be able to prevent the country from becoming Sri Lanka if the current problems are not solved on time.”
Similarly, he also claimed that the CPN-UML had left the government with a strong economy while the current government had made the economic situation worse in the last nine months.
Poudel stated that the Minister or Prime Minister will not improve the country’s deteriorating economic situation just by making claims to do so and that the government should take appropriate measures to address the current economic problems.
