Kathmandu, March 22
Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his party
needs participation according to its status if the cabinet is reshuffled.
Talking to media persons in Janakpur on Tuesday, he said that there was talk of reshuffling the cabinet, however, it has not been formally finalized yet.
Dahal said, “There is talk of reshuffling the cabinet. While new ones are set to come in, old ones are about to go. But no decision has yet been made. I’ve already told the Prime Minister that the past is now over, and we now need ministries based on our strengths.”
Similarly, he said that the country’s politics is focused on elections and that all of the major political parties’ activities have become election-centric.
“Our training program is also an election-related process, with the emphasis on the issue of
elections rather than the general convention agenda,” Dahal said.
Likewise, Dahal said he would give high priority to getting a positive election result on the
party’s own strength.
However, forming electoral alliances is also a possibility, he added.
