In the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2078/79, the Birgunj Customs Office received Rs. 139 billion in revenue. From July through February of this fiscal year, Rs. 138.94 billion in revenue was received.
Birgunj Customs has managed to collect 3.6 percent more income than the Customs
Department’s revenue objective during the previous eight months. In eight months, the department aimed to raise Rs 134.16 billion in income from Birgunj customs.
The money received was 3.6 percent more than the objective, or Rs 4.78 billion, according to Harihar Poudel, chief customs officer at the Birgunj customs office.
According to customs data, revenue collection increased by Rs. 34.53 billion this fiscal year
compared to the previous fiscal year 077/78.
Customs duty has increased to Rs 50.67 billion, VAT to Rs 54.74 billion, and excise duty to Rs 15.19 billion of the total income received.
Birgunj Customs has collected Rs 10 billion 818 million 32 thousand rupees in the last eight
months. It has received Rs. 2.96 billion 79.15 million in maintenance and improvement fee
income and Rs. 3.73 billion 41.86 million in road repair and maintenance fee revenue.
