The feasibility study for the first international transmission line between China and Nepal is
now complete. The estimated construction cost is Rs 10 billion.
A feasibility study for the building of a 400 kV transmission line from China’s Geelong County to Rasuwagadhi through Ratmate has been completed. The study was done from two routes, including forest area and park area, according to the Ratmate-Rasuwagadhi-Kerung transmission line project. The Environmental Study Assessment (EIA) process will begin in April, according to project chief Komal Nath Atreya.
According to the report, the transmission line would be 70 km long, with 214 towers costing roughly Rs 10 billion to build, and construction from the forest region costing around Rs 9 billion. As per the plans, a 400 KV double circuit line will be built in Nepal and a 500 KV double circuit line would be built in China. The building will be finished in six years, according to the plans.
It’s being worked on by Nepal Electricity Authority’s project development department.
