Standing committee decides to take action against PM by convening emergency central committee meeting !

President Bidyadevi Bhandari announced the dissolution of the House of Representatives on the recommendation of the government as soon as the Prime Minister conveyed the recommendation of the emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers to the President.

In a press release issued by the Office of the President on Sunday, the President has also fixed the date for holding elections in two phases on April 30 and May 10 for the new mandate. The President has fixed April 30 and May 10 as per the government’s recommendation for a fresh mandate using Article 76 (1), Article 76 (7) and Article 85 of the Constitution.

Article 76 (1) of the constitution provides for the appointment of the leader of the parliamentary party with a majority in the House of Representatives as the Prime Minister and the formation of the Council of Ministers under his chairmanship. Similarly, if the appointed Prime Minister fails to get a vote of confidence or cannot be appointed as per Article 76 (7), the President will dissolve the House of Representatives on the recommendation of the Prime Minister and the date of the next House of Representatives election will be fixed within six months.

Similarly, Article 85 (1) stipulates that the term of the House of Representatives shall be five years except for dissolved as per the constitution.

As soon as the parliament was dissolved, Dahal-Nepal leaders called on the general public to come to Maiti Ghar to protest. They all protest against the government’s move. Recently, seven Dahal-Nepal ministers resigned en masse. Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal and Commerce and Supplies Minister Lekhraj Bhatta have not resigned.

The letter of collective resignation’s Words: [Today on Dec. 20, 2020 the presented proposal of the dissolution of the House of Representatives on the meeting of the Minister of Council by the PM Oli is not accepted by us. We tried to stop that move using our full strength. We resigned from the post of Minister as we are against it as believed that it is against the constitution, democracy, stability, political values and ignoring the spirit of the public vote.

We always remain active and commit to save the achieved progress from the sacrifices of the people as laden to serious crisis on the parties and politics of the nation.
