KATHMANDU : The 11th edition of the Pakistan–Nepal Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 was inaugurated on 7 February by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, H.E. Mr. Abrar H. Hashmi, marking another chapter in the growing sporting ties between the two countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by friends of Pakistan, cricket enthusiasts, media representatives, and officials from partner organizations including PNAN, Global IME Bank, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), and the Youth Council. Guests praised the Embassy of Pakistan for consistently organizing the tournament and highlighted cricket’s powerful role in uniting young people across borders.

This year’s competition features 12 teams—10 domestic clubs alongside teams representing the Embassy of Pakistan and Global IME Bank—promising a week of competitive and entertaining matches.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi emphasized that cricket goes beyond being merely a sport. “It serves as a platform to bring people together and fosters a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork,” he said, while wishing the players an exciting tournament. He also thanked the organizers, partners, and attendees for their support in staging the event successfully.
The tournament will conclude on 15 February 2026 with a final match followed by a closing ceremony featuring trophy presentations and cash prize distribution. All matches are being broadcast live on the sports channel Action Sports HDI as well as on various social media platforms.
