The Pain of Patriots at the Courtyard of the Wicked

The Pain of Patriots at the Courtyard of the Wicked

If one looks deeply, within politics, bureaucracy, and universities, one can still find a large number of true patriots — people who constantly think about the good of the nation. They are not working for medals or rewards but for the progress and future of their country. They do not speak much, because their voices are suppressed by the suffocating environment around them.

1. Over the past 37 years, the downfall and exodus of such individuals has spread like a pandemic. Today, it has become extremely difficult to find even ten reliable experts in any sector of the country. The first reason: many left the country out of fear — fear of becoming victims of the wicked culture that thrives under political flattery and sycophancy. Thus, “brain drain” became Nepal’s fate. Today, the country is dominated by those who would burn Singha Durbar (the office of the government), who protest against others only to occupy their seats and loot, who compete to sell the nation, and who are ready to sell religion, culture, and national pride without a shred of shame. They flood social media with vulgarity and obscenity, using foul language to express a false sense of satisfaction. Meanwhile, the remaining patriots live in fear, cornered in their own fields of work. They constantly face the threat of oppression from those who have seized power through political trickery. When these patriots see the wicked receiving medals from the President’s Office, their souls weep — yet they have learned to wear an artificial smile.

2. Dear leaders of political parties, today you say there is a conspiracy against the nation. But if there truly is a conspiracy, you yourselves are its cause — you are the creators of this ghost of conspiracy. You have been surrounded not just today, but since long ago — because your own followers were members of foreign households. The country is burning today, but do you know that those who set it on fire were nurtured in your own homes? Yesterday, these same corrupt people were proudly posing for photographs with you in your lavish meetings. These illegitimate offspring of yours — the nepokids — participated in the culture of oppression, hatred, and the social downfall of others, while hypocritically labeling others as nepokids. The terror they unleashed forced many true patriots and talented citizens to bury their identity and live in anonymity, merely to survive.

3. Thirty-seven years ago, during the Panchayat regime, people suffered under political repression. Many silently spent their lives as schoolteachers, forced by the desire for freedom and prosperity to secretly expand your organizations and support you. But when 1990 came and democracy arrived, those around you became a crowd that fed on gold, not rice — and the talents and integrity of patriots were brutally murdered. That is how the country has reached this state today.

Now, the nation stands in darkness, its future clouded in fog. Some brave souls, who dare to speak out without fear for their lives, are warning the country of the danger of being swallowed whole. Yet, those who have never lifted a finger for the nation sit comfortably indoors, calling such warnings “conspiracy theories,” mocking them as the ramblings of “foolish young men of a stupid nation.” In short, the country’s intellect has turned into a playground for pseudo-scholars.

Dear Leaders,
The current tragic state of the country is the result of your 37 years of chaos — your intellectual decay, feudal mindset, ego, and greed for power and wealth. The visible and invisible hands of manipulation have played their part, yes — but your hands are dirty too. You yourselves once guarded these visible and invisible elements. You poured kerosene on the talents and patriots of the nation. And now, the children raised in foreign stables — your own protégés — have set your own houses on fire. Yet, you still wait for the return of the old days! That is nothing but a mirage.

Transform yourselves — defend your principles and protect the nation by awakening the conscience within your own souls.
