Protest Held at Maitighar Mandala Against Anti-China Activities

A protest titled “Protest Against Anti-China Activities in Nepal” was held today at 2:00 PM at Maitighar Mandala in the capital city of Kathmandu. Participants expressed concern over ongoing Free Tibet-related activities in Nepal, accusing the government of exhibiting a double standard that contradicts Nepal’s official “One-China Policy.”

Phanindra Nepal, campaigner of Greater Nepal and Head of the International Relations Department of the Greater Nepal Communist Party, strongly emphasized in his media statement the need to repatriate Tibetan refugees and called on the government to strictly adhere to the One-China policy without compromise. He stated that Nepal must immediately halt all Free Tibet-related activities within its borders, as such actions violate Nepal’s diplomatic commitments and risk damaging the longstanding Nepal–China relationship. Stressing that Nepali land should never be used against any friendly nation, he urged all patriotic Nepalese to unite in defense of national sovereignty and uphold the spirit of eternal Nepal–China friendship.

Protesters carried placards with slogans such as “Repatriate Tibetan refugees,” “May Nepal–China relations remain eternal,” “Strictly adhere to the One-China policy,” “Stop Free Tibet activities in Nepal,” “Nepali land must not be used against any friendly nation,” and “Let all patriotic Nepalese unite.”

Speakers at the protest urged the government to take Nepal’s geopolitical sensitivities seriously and to immediately halt any foreign-influenced activities taking place within the country. They warned that any actions undermining Nepal’s long-standing friendship and mutual respect with China would not be acceptable. The protest concluded peacefully.
